Ligue 1 powerhouse AS Monaco is still reeling from the loss of Colombian striker Falcao due to an ACL tear. Currently, the second-place principality side is well positioned to achieve its goal of qualifying for the Champions League, but further reinforcements may be afoot in the form of Hulk according to L’Equipe.

The Brazilian has scored 23 goals and assisted his teammates 19 times in his season and a half with Russian Premier League giants Zenit St. Petersburg who paid $82 million for the winger in September 2012. Money should be no object for Monaco, and the striker/winger is keen on a return to Europe before the January transfer window expires.

Monaco’s backup plans include out-of-favor Juventus forward Mirko Vucinic to leave for the Stade Louis II after the Montenegrin’s move to Inter Milan was publicly botched. Manager Claudio Ranieri is also considering pumping the breaks on releasing 6’8” Ivory Coast striker Lacina Traoré on loan to Everton, putting Roberto Martinez in a sweat according to Sky Sports.

In the aftermath of the aforementioned Guarin-Vucinic debacle, Corriere dello Sport is reporting that the Colombian midfielder has a number of options. The strongest, most expensive opportunity comes from Turkey, in the form of a $13.7 million offer from Galatasaray.

Additional suitors include Manchester United, who are faced with the urgency of replacing an injured Michael Carrick, and Tottenham, who is following the situation in Milan closely according to The Daily Telegraph.

In his Friday press conference, Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc expressed his desire to sign Yohan Cabaye from Newcastle United or Miralem Pjanić from AS Roma. "They are both targets for PSG; they are very technical players who have the same profile. If a midfielder comes this winter, I’ll be very happy," the coach admitted.
