Juventus' slow start to the post-holiday season continued with a 1-1 tie at Parma Sunday. The result left Juve (45 points) with a three-point lead in Serie A over Lazio, which took a 2-0 victory over Atalanta.

Andrea Pirlo's 52nd-minute free kick deflected off a Parma player to give Juventus the lead. Pirlo has scored five goals, all on free kicks, in Serie A this season. But Nicola Sansone tied the score in the 78th minute.

Juve is 0-1-1 in Serie A matches this month, but moved on in Coppa Italia with a 2-1 extra time win over Milan last week.

Parma improved its home unbeaten streak to 15 matches (11-0-4) over two seasons.
