Uruguay advanced to the final round of U-20 South American World Cup qualifying with a 2-2 tie against Venezuela Friday.

Uruguay (6 points) clinched the result on a 60th-minute goal by AS Roma forward Nicolas Lopez. Venezuela (4 points) missed a penalty kick and squandered two leads.

Josef Martinez missed a penalty kick in the 15th minute, then scored in 21st minute. But Diego Rolan's penalty kick tied the score in the 27th minute. Sebastian Cristoforo earned the penalty after going down in a clash with goalkeeper Jose Contreras. Juan Pablo Anor finished a move off a quickly-taken free kick in the 48th minute. Then, Nicolas Lopez tied it on a counterattack in the 60th minute.
