Panama has been the team with the most and best progress, including a positive streak that places Blas Perez as second top scorer in the tournament with eight goals to his name, two more than US midfielder, Clint Dempsey.

The first half was completely dominated by the home team that scored its two goals in the first 45 minutes of play. The first goal came from Luis Alfonso Henriquez (15') and then, ten minutes later, Roman Torres (26') scored the second goal, after an assistance from Marcos Sanchez

Costa Rica reacted and before the end of the first half, scored the discount through Alvaro Saborio (39') who received and assist from Christopher Meneses

The second half saw Panama come into the pitch with caution trying to defend its lead and just play in counter attack. Costa Rica pushed for the equalizer growing desperate to rescue at least one point, and it did, almost last minute when Bryan Ruiz received an assist from Saborio to define the final 2-2.
