Chile grabbed the lead of the first group of the South American U-20 Qualifiers after beating Bolivia 2-0.

The first half saw no goals and Bolivia in its usual defending attitude. The undisputed star was Bolivia's goalkeeper, Guillermo Viscarra, who stopped Bryan Rabella and Nicolas Castillo on their multiple shots on target. Chile was showing a much better level than its rival, but the young goalie was the most important man on the pitch during the first 45 minutes, impeding the opening of the score.

Nicolas Castillo finally saw his perseverance pay off in the 52' minute when he scored the opening goal after a pass from teammate, Rubio. That was the second score for the young Chilean who was responsible for handing the Argentines their first defeat in the inaugural game.

Chile maintained its offensive throughout the second half of the match, but Bolivia improved and during the final minutes of play had a couple of chances to equalize the match. Nevertheless, Cristian Cuevas ended the hopes for Bolivia by scoring a goal for Chile one minute before the end of the game.

In spite of the uprising level of the South American countries, Bolivia continues to fall fiercely behind the group.

Group A is led by Chile with 6 points, followed by Paraguay and Colombia with three points but the later with one game less played. Argentina and Bolivia have yet to produce points.
