The Barcelona record machine continued turning out hits Sunday.

Barça took a 3-1 victory over Malaga, reaching the halfway point in La Liga season on a pace to surpass all-time marks for points and goals scored in a season.

Lionel Messi continued on a pace to snap his own scoring mark. Messi scored his 28th goal of the season, picking off a back pass and going past goalkeeper Willy Caballero in the 27th minute. Cesc Fabregas (50th minute) and Thiago Alcantara (83rd) finished off the Barcelona scoring. Diego Buonanotte's free kick broke the shutout in the 89th minute. 

Barcelona (18-0-1) has totaled 55 points and converted 66 goals, both totals ahead of the pace set by Real Madrid when it established La Liga records with 100 points and 121 goals last season. Messi set La Liga all-time best with 50 goals last season.
