A single goal sufficed for Colombia to beat Uruguay, and take down the only undefeated team in the South American U-20 Qualifiers

In a very closed off match, both teams showed why they lead the scoring table as the most offensive teams. There were ample opportunities for both, but Colombia found the only goal through Jaguares striker John Cordoba ('39), who took advantage of a filtered pass from Cuero and defined positively for the 'cafeteros'.

The second half saw the Colombian team take over mostly on the defensive side. They had possession of the ball and managed the rhythm of the game and didn't generate much danger but they completely controlled Uruguay and the game in general.

With this win, Colombia assumes solitary leadership in the table of positions with two wins out of the same amount of matches. Paraguay is in second place with four points and Uruguay ties with Chile with three points.
