The game that would determine the final spot to Turkey 2013 was played between Peru and Chile, and what a game it was. A final tie 1-1 gave Chile the ticket to the Fifa U-20 World Cup this summer, but their neighbors to the north gave quite a display of strength and talent.

Peru opened the score early on with a goal scored by Edison Flores (7') after an assists from Peru's star, Cristian Benavente

The goal turned Peru even more offensive generating a series of missed opportunities.

But, Chile wouldn't stand back and took control of the game after the 30th minute. Not too long after that, Chile was awarded a free kick that Bryan Rabello (34') would take and convert to score the equalizer 1-1.

The second half would see an intense match back and forth between the two. Peru fought and pushed to score another goal that would give them the spot to the World Cup, and scored a goal (89') that was deemed offside and annulled.

With the tie, Chile reached 7 points and Peru only added 5, for which La 'Rojita', one of the most promising teams of the first round, was the last to qualify.
