Barcelona set up a showdown with Real Madrid by eliminating Malaga in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals Thursday. Barcelona took a 4-2 victory over Malaga, advancing by a 6-4 aggregate score to a meeting with Real Madrid in the semifinals, the first leg scheduled Jan. 27.

Barcelona took control early as Pedro Rodriguez headed in a Dani Alves cross in the eighth minute. But Malaga tied the score as Joaquin sent a shot just inside the post in the 12th minute. Gerard Pique chested down a cross from Andres Iniesta and scored in the 49th minute. Roque Santa Cruz tied the score in the 68th minute.

But Andres Iniesta (76th) broke the tie, then Lionel Messi (80th) headed in the fourth goal.
